Star Wars #96

Marvel's Star Wars #96 (June 1985) promises high-stakes confrontation right from its cover, where a mysterious blue-clad warrior in a purple hood looms large, one lightsaber raised high while clashing blades with a lighter-haired combatant below in a burst of crackling energy. The title "Duel with a Dark Lady!" leaves little ambiguity about the tension at the heart of this issue. Cover art by Cynthia Martin gives the scene a sharp, dynamic urgency — with the small inset panel hinting at familiar Rebel faces waiting in the wings.
