DC's Star Trek reaches its double-sized fiftieth issue with a painted cover by Jason Palmer that brings together five familiar faces from the Enterprise crew — including a central figure cradling a black cat — arrayed above the gleaming hull of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 streaking through the cosmos. The painterly, portraiture-style composition gives the milestone number a suitably grand, commemorative feel. Howard Weinstein, Rod Whigham, Arne Starr, and Carlos Garzón close out "The Peacekeeper" with this extra-length conclusion, making issue #50 a satisfying landmark for fans who followed the run.
