Star Trek #49
Part two of "Deity" arrives in this 2015 IDW entry in the Kelvin-timeline Star Trek series, with Kirk and Spock rendered in striking close-up against a dramatic backdrop of soaring alien spires rising from a coastal landscape beneath a pale moon. Tony Shasteen's cover work gives both figures a quiet intensity — Kirk in his gold command shirt occupying the foreground, Spock watchful behind him — that hints at the weight of whatever confrontation awaits. With writer Mike Johnson and colorist Davide Mastrolonardo rounding out the creative team, this conclusion to the two-part story is a satisfying addition to the five-year mission run.
