Star Trek #47

IDW's Star Trek #47 brings "The Tholian Webs" to its conclusion with a cover by Joe Corroney that puts Uhura front and center, phaser raised and eyes locked on some unseen threat in a striking red uniform. Spock and Kirk flank her in the background — communicators in hand against a vivid cosmic backdrop featuring the Enterprise itself — giving the composition a real sense of urgency and teamwork. With writing from Mike Johnson and Roberto Orci and interior art by Rachael Stott, this 2015 entry in the ongoing Kelvin-timeline Five Year Mission series is a fine showcase for one of the franchise's most capable officers.
