Star Trek #22
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this January 1986 DC issue sets an unsettling tone immediately: four members of Kirk's crew in their red movie-era uniforms move with eerie, unnatural urgency in the foreground, while the Enterprise glides through a star-scattered sky above them — and looming over everything is the enormous, otherworldly face and clawed hands of a supernatural female figure. The cover blurb makes the threat explicit — "Kirk's Crew Is Possessed by the Spirit of Jack the Ripper!" — a premise that fuses classic science fiction with Victorian horror in genuinely compelling fashion. Cover pencils by Tom Sutton and inks by Bill Wray give the composition a wonderfully dramatic, slightly surreal quality that makes this "Wolf on the Prowl" installment hard to pass up.
