Tomahawk and Dan meet the poet Paul Pennyline, who writes comic songs that taunt the general of the British occupying forces. When Paul is arrested and charged with libel, Tomahawk sets out to prove to the court that the songs aren't libelous at all. In the end, the general provides more amusement than ever to the patriots of the city.
