Star-Lord #5

Part five of "The Heist, Earth Lord" finds Peter Quill — helmeted, glowing red-eyed, and clad in a casual jacket — standing his ground as Daredevil and a pair of masked figures close in around him, the bold red backdrop giving the whole standoff a charged, tense energy. Chip Zdarsky and Kris Anka's "Grounded" arc has been putting Star-Lord through his paces on Earth, and this cover, rendered with clean, confident lines by Anka and vivid color by Matthew Wilson, captures exactly that fish-out-of-water tension in style. A great chapter in a series that's been a genuinely fun street-level take on Marvel's favorite space rogue.
