"The Prince" follows a princess attempting to cross a muddy stream with the help of a suitor, who ends up covered in mud when the ground gives way. Another story, "Jungle Jingle," presents a series of comedic vignettes including a bulldog biting a grandfather, a boy smoking a cigar and becoming ill, a waitress serving fresh eggs she just laid, and a foreman struck in the eye by a hammer. The issue also contains a longer adventure story in which the protagonist Dan attempts to rescue a woman named Gloria from the villain Orien, involving elaborate mechanical death traps and dramatic confrontations within a bandit hideout.
A clever horse named Pokey finds himself entered in a race at the Brown Derby with an unconventional jockey, and the scheming animal spectators are already placing their bets and trading racing tips. This one-page romp captures all the carnival energy of a day at the track, complete with hustlers, favorites, and plenty of comic chaos unfolding in the paddock.
Riggin' Bill spins a tall tale for his eager shipmates about a voyage near Borneo, where he and his crew encountered a wild tribe of women on a remote island and barely escaped back to their vessel. Back on land, his companion Polly Tix regales the neighborhood kids with his own version of the adventure—but when he declares that all women are naturally wild, Mrs. Tix delivers a swift comeuppance that teaches him a lesson about tall tales.
