In a whimsical tale of vanity and truth, an Emperor obsessed with fashion is duped by two cunning weavers who promise a suit invisible to the foolish. As the Emperor parades through the city, pretending to see the fabric to save face, a child’s innocent cry shatters the illusion—revealing the emperor’s nakedness to all. Humiliated, he later repents, abandoning his vanity to clothe the poor.

In "De stadsmuis en de plattelandsmuis," a city mouse finds the country mouse’s simple life too dull, while the country mouse is overwhelmed by the dangers of city life. The two mice exchange homes, each discovering the other’s world comes with its own kind of hardship.
