Spooky Spooktown #17

This Giant-Size Harvey Comics treat from 1966 puts Spooky face-to-face with a lumbering Frankenstein's Monster whose head has been replaced by a television set — a wonderfully absurd sight gag that perfectly captures the book's playful spooky humor. The little ghost recoils in wide-eyed alarm while the monster stomps forward, clawed hands outstretched, making for a cover that's equal parts silly and spooky. Thumbnail portraits along the left edge also promise appearances by Poil, Casper, the Ghostly Trio, and Wendy, rounding out a jam-packed 25-cent giant that any fan of Harvey's friendly-ghost universe would be happy to track down.
