Harvey Comics' pint-sized phantom is up to mischief in this June 1961 issue, as Spooky — bowler hat and all — phases right through a bakery window toward a gorgeous pink layer cake, much to the alarm of the wide-eyed dog chef standing behind the counter. There's something irresistibly charming about a ghost who haunts pastry shops, and the cover's bright, cheerful colors capture Harvey's signature all-ages warmth perfectly. Fans of Spooky's gentle brand of ghostly shenanigans will find this a delightful slice of early '60s Harvey Comics fun.
