Spirit #11

"The Case of the Balky Buzzard" features the criminal Mr. Carrion and his pet bird Julia, who uses a trained buzzard to rob his victims' bankrolls. When the Spirit investigates a robbery at a woman's home, the buzzard escapes with the stolen money, leading the Spirit to pursue the bird to Scalpel's Rock, where Doctor Scalpel has discovered gold veins on the island. The story concludes with the Spirit confronting Scalpel and his associates over the discovery and Julia's role in the crimes.
