In "Cloak & Dagger," Spider-Man races to intercept the duo as they pursue Simon Marshall, a former pharmacist now trafficking drugs. When Dagger kills Marshall, the pair escapes, leading Spider-Man to uncover the truth: Marshall was testing dangerous experimental drugs on runaway children for the mob. On Ellis Island, Cloak and Dagger reveal they were the only survivors of the experiments—children whose lives were changed by the drugs that granted them their powers—and now seek justice against those who orchestrated the cruelty.
