Spidey #2
Spidey #2 puts a teenage Peter Parker right in the thick of it, as the cover shows our red-and-blue-clad wall-crawler literally engulfed within Sandman's massive, churning sandy form — the villain's roaring face looming large at the bottom while swirling waves of sand threaten to swallow Spidey whole. Nick Bradshaw's cover artwork is wonderfully detailed, giving Sandman's gritty mass an almost organic, overwhelming presence that makes the young hero's determination feel all the more impressive. With Robbie Thompson writing and Jim Campbell's colors bringing that sandy palette to vivid life, this 2016 series clearly has a great handle on making classic Spidey adventures feel fresh and fun.
