Spider-Woman strides into a new solo series with one of the most refreshingly bold cover images Marvel published in 2016 — Jessica Drew, visibly very pregnant, striking a confident flex in her red-and-black costume with one hand on her hip and a raised fist that says she's still very much in the game. The cover by Javier Rodríguez and Álvaro López makes a quiet but assured statement: superheroics and impending motherhood aren't mutually exclusive. With Dennis Hopeless writing and Rodríguez on interior art as well, this first issue promises a fresh, character-driven chapter for one of Marvel's most capable spies-turned-heroes.
