While Peter is still trying to locate the missing Mary Jane, Eddie Brock decides to reconnect with his ex-wife and win her back. She is, of course, terrified by him and just wants to be left alone. When Spider-Man swings by the window in his black costume, she freaks out even more and Eddie decides to "rescue" her by taking down the web-slinger. During the ensuing battle, Ann leaps to her death in a panic and Venom vows vengeance against Spider-Man for causing the death of the woman he loves.
