Spider-Man's Tangled Web #19

Spider-Man dangles upside-down from his web between what appear to be bathroom stall doors covered in colorful graffiti tags — "Long Island Bandits," anarchist symbols, love notes, and doodles — in this wonderfully off-beat 2002 entry in Marvel's anthology series. Jim Mahfood's loose, street-art-inflected cover style is a perfect match for the "Call of the Wild" story title, giving the whole thing an energetic, underground-zine feel. Robbie Morrison and Mahfood's collaboration promises something refreshingly different from your standard web-slinging adventure.
