Spider-Man's Tangled Web #15

Paul Pope brings his distinctively kinetic linework to this entry in Marvel's street-level anthology series, and the cover alone sets a wonderfully strange mood. Framed like a view through a cluttered artist's drafting table — scattered inks, brushes, and sketches in the foreground — a red-haired woman leaps mid-air inside what appears to be a cramped studio space, while Spider-Man's masked face peers in from the upper corner holding up a drawing of himself. "The Collaborator" promises something thoughtful and off-beat, the kind of self-contained story that made Tangled Web such a rewarding corner of the 2002 Marvel universe.
