Spider-Man: India #5

The fifth and final chapter of "Seva" arrives with a cover by Adam Kubert that pulls no punches: Spider-Man India is shown battered and held aloft — or perhaps pinned down — by a ring of grasping hands tearing at his costume, his masked face turned toward the viewer in a moment of raw vulnerability. It's a striking, viscerally tense image that speaks to the enormous pressures bearing down on this hero as writer Nikesh Shukla and artist Tadam Gyadu bring their 2023 series to a close. Fans of thoughtful, culturally grounded superhero storytelling will want this one on their shelf.
