Spider-Man / Human Torch #1

The first issue of this five-part Marvel limited series kicks off with a cover by Paul Smith that sets a wonderfully New York tone — Spider-Man and a blazing Human Torch streak around the face of the Statue of Liberty, flame trails cutting bright arcs of orange and gold against Lady Liberty's cool green. It's a great visual pairing that captures the playful rivalry and genuine camaraderie these two Marvel heroes have shared for decades. Writer Dan Slott and artist Ty Templeton promise a story — "Picture Perfect" — that sounds like exactly the kind of fun, character-driven adventure this duo deserves.
