“In the Blaze of Battle!”

"In the Blaze of Battle!" sees Iron Man locked in a fierce clash with Hawkeye and the newly arrived, costumed Black Widow—now a villainess in her own right. Though Iron Man gains the upper hand, the pair manage to slip away, leaving tension simmering between Tony Stark, Pepper, and the ever-watchful Happy. A rare 1974 Marvel UK outing with Stan Lee’s writing and Don Heck’s dynamic art, this issue captures the era’s bold energy, with Gil Kane and Mike Esposito’s striking cover setting the tone for a story of rivalry, loyalty, and unspoken feelings.
