Spider-Man: Breakout #1

Spinning directly out of the pages of The New Avengers, this five-part limited series kicks off with a cover by Mike Deodato Jr. that wastes no time setting a frantic, dangerous tone — Spider-Man is caught in the middle of a surging mass of escaped supervillains, including a winged creature, an armored bruiser, a robed figure, a glowing energy-wielder, and several more clawing their way through a fiery orange sky. With writer Tony Bedard, artist Manuel Garcia, and inker Raúl Fernández on board, Spider-Man: Breakout looks like exactly the kind of wall-to-wall chaos that puts Marvel's favorite web-slinger right where he least wants to be — outnumbered and surrounded.
