Spider-Man #90

Spider-Man comes crashing through a crumbling wall toward the reader in this April 1998 "Prelude" chapter, his red-and-black costume front and center as debris and crackling pink energy fill the air around him. Opposite him, a hulking gray beast-like figure — snarling and armed with a glowing energy weapon — charges from the left, making the cover feel like a head-on collision already in motion. With Howard Mackie scripting and John Romita Jr. handling both pencils and inks, the raw kinetic energy of the artwork speaks for itself.
