Spider-Man #31

Spider-Man crouches desperately over a field of rubble, with an enormous, hulking grey creature looming directly behind him — glowing eyes and clenched fists radiating pure menace against a vivid purple backdrop. This February 1993 issue brings the "Return to the Mad Dog Ward" arc to its conclusion, promising high stakes as our hero faces what looks like an overwhelming threat. Chris Marrinan's cover pencils and Sam de la Rosa's inks deliver a striking sense of scale and tension that makes this finale genuinely hard to put down.
