Speed Comics #4 is an anthology featuring the double-length story "Shock Gibson," in which the hero discovers a foreign submarine base on a deserted Florida island and destroys it by hurling torpedoes at enemy vessels. The issue also includes "Nik Bannon of the U.S. Marines," set in Panama, where a Marine officer named Leatherneck shows off his flying skills to attractive women. Additionally, the comic contains a story featuring the character Landor battling a monstrous villain called Maddened in a confrontation involving high-voltage power transformers, which ends with Landor released from his promise to Maddened, though the villain vows future revenge.
