Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Steve Saunders is assigned to investigate a bank robbery in a small Arkansas town. A draft dodger named Benson and his army-deserter companion attempt to escape with the stolen money by car, but FBI agents pursue them. The criminals use a car with metal plating as protection during their getaway, but are eventually apprehended after abandoning the chase near Rosalie when their vehicle is disabled by roofing nails. The cashier who was forced to participate in the robbery is released, and Saunders helps resolve the case by protecting the town and working with local law enforcement.
