Jason Shawn Alexander's interiors pair beautifully here with Francesco Mattina's cover, which bathes everything in hellish emerald light — a massive, fanged demonic visage looms over a cloaked Spawn while a red-haired woman recoils amid swirling green energy. Mattina's painted style gives the whole composition a cinematic dread that feels right at home in Spawn's dark corner of the Image universe. Issue #294 is a striking entry in Todd McFarlane's long-running series, and this cover alone makes a compelling case to pick it up.
