Spawn #201
Spawn #201 marks a milestone two-hundredth-and-first chapter for Image's dark antihero, and the cover by Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane makes the occasion feel appropriately haunting. Spawn looms out of the shadows, his scarred and pallid face half-swallowed by the folds of his massive cape, a single glowing yellow eye cutting through the darkness while a clawed, bloodied fist clutches something unseen below. It's an intensely atmospheric image — brooding, visceral, and a strong signal that interior artist Szymon Kudranski and the creative team are steering the series into compelling territory.
