The seventh chapter of "Endgame" arrives with a cover by Greg Capullo (pencils) and Todd McFarlane (inks) that commands attention: a massive winged figure — its great feathered wings soaked and dripping with blood — looms in the foreground, while a dark, cloaked silhouette stands watchfully behind it against a shadowy backdrop. The raw intensity of that image, all crimson splatter against deep grays and blacks, sets a fittingly grim tone for this late stage of the arc. With interior art by Whilce Portacio and McFarlane, this 2009 Image series continues to push its hellspawn mythology into increasingly dark territory.
