Spawn #187 brings the third chapter of "Endgame" with a cover that makes an immediate impression — a lone, spike-caped Spawn stands wreathed in smoldering red smoke, his glowing green eyes cutting through the haze as jagged tendrils of his symbiotic suit fan out behind him. Whilce Portacio's cover art gives the hellspawn a brooding, monumental presence, silhouetted against a muted, ash-grey sky. With Todd McFarlane and Brian Holguin steering the story and Portacio handling interior art as well, this 2008 Image release promises the kind of dark, atmospheric storytelling the series does so well.
