Sparkler Comics #35 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. One story follows a military adventure in which Herr Krausse attempts to escape by commandeering a patrol boat while evading Colonel Riley and Allied forces, ultimately leading to a chase and Krausse's escape in a small boat. The issue also includes "Sparkler Salutes," a feature presenting factual accounts of heroism by U.S. servicemen, including stories of Pvt. Felix P. B. Petroski of Norwich, Connecticut, who served as a sniper and participated in a successful ambush of German forces, and Pfc. William J. Johnston of Colchester, Connecticut, whose machine-gun defense during a Nazi attack resulted in killing numerous enemy soldiers before he was wounded and evacuated. Additionally, the comic contains a story featuring characters named Benny and Penny in a comedic adventure involving saboteurs and a naval air base.
