One story depicts a kangaroo named Ruggles going on a paradise island adventure with a professor and children, where Ruggles causes comical chaos with a basket and ultimately helps save the day by stopping bandits. Another story involves a man named Ruggles who encounters two bandits on a road; after helping them reach a hotel, he is revealed to be a disguised law enforcement officer who captures them using a special "pepper box" pistol that fires multiple barrels.
The Captain and the kids attempt to turn "Paradise Island" into a peaceful sanctuary by taming a wild monkey named Hugo, but their efforts at animal training quickly spiral into chaos when the Captain gets involved. What starts as a demonstration of the kids' success becomes a series of increasingly wild attempts to prove who's the better trainer, complete with acrobatic mishaps and property damage. The whole operation eventually descends into complete pandemonium, leaving the kids scrambling to salvage their island paradise.
