☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSparkie meets King Midas in the Golden Garden, where the king's magical golden touch has turned everything, including the princess, to gold. Sparkie must reach the king before the princess is completely transformed, leading to a confrontation in which Sparkie outsmarts the greedy monarch. The issue also includes "The Gorilla," where Sparkie and friends must capture an escaped gorilla named Gus at the zoo by unlocking both cage gates to trap the animal inside.
In "Who Am I?", Sparkie takes on the role of a biblical shepherd boy chosen by the wise man Samuel for a great destiny. When King Saul summons the young shepherd to his palace, Sparkie's courage and loyalty earn him a place at court—but his real test comes when the fearsome giant Goliath challenges the Israeli army to single combat. Armed with only his wits and a slingshot, Sparkie must prove that Samuel's prophecy of greatness was true.
Sparkie and Twinkle journey to the Land of Make-Believe on their magic carpet, where they discover that King Midas's golden touch has transformed an entire garden—and inadvertently trapped the Princess Marigold in gold as well. Racing against time and the King's dangerous power, the two must find a way to break the spell before it's too late.
When a gorilla escapes from the zoo and starts collecting copies of Sparkie's newspaper, the young reporter and their friend Charlie think they've stumbled onto a real story—until they discover a rival paper's reporter in disguise is behind the scheme. What follows is a hilarious game of cat-and-mouse through Cincinnati that ends with an unexpected twist on who ends up where.
Sparkie invites his pal Charlie over to watch a baseball game on the family's brand new television set, but Charlie would rather stick with the old-fashioned way of catching the action—through a knot-hole in the fence at the ballpark. When Sparkie insists the TV experience will be just as good, Charlie has to decide whether to give the modern marvel a chance or hold onto tradition.
