The cover story introduces Spurs Jackson and his Space Vigilantes battling saucer-men.
When flying saucers descend on the Bar-Z ranch, Spurs Jackson, his ranch hands Hank Roper and Strong Bow, and the local frontier community find themselves caught in an interplanetary conflict. Taken to Mars, they uncover a coup led by the alien Korok, who forces Queen Thula to step down. With the help of the Martian queen’s loyalists, Spurs, Roper, and Strong Bow rally to restore Thula to her throne—earning her gratitude and a new role as Prime Minister.
In a futuristic desert where truck hijackings plague the supply lines to Pueblo Dam, Hank Roper teams up with Sheriff Townley to outsmart a gang of masked outlaws running a clever operation. When the Sheriff's conventional search comes up empty, Hank's sharp eye for hidden possibilities leads him to a truth hidden in plain sight—and straight into the outlaws' trap. This fast-paced adventure proves that sometimes the best lawman is one who knows how to untangle a mystery as well as he can untangle a rope.
In the dusty streets of Powder River, two riders arrive under tense skies—Frank James and his brother, Jesse, drawn into a deadly standoff with the outlaw Black Nick. When Frank is shot, Jesse’s swift, precise retaliation leaves the town stunned, his marksmanship too sharp to ignore. As the wounded man rests under the doctor’s care, the Marshall stares at a newly arrived poster, its face eerily familiar—Jesse James, the legendary gunman, now riding into town with his brother and a past that’s just begun to catch up.
In "Death from U-235," Spurs Jackson finds himself accused of murder after a man dies from radiation poisoning—just as he'd vowed revenge for his father's death. With Hank Roper at his side, he uncovers a hidden spaceship and is whisked away to Venus, where they encounter strange, winged mechanical horses.
In the dusty heart of the Arizona frontier, when Jigg Larsen and his rustlers torch the Rancho Oro and leave Stew Carey trapped in the flames, Strong Bow—famed Space Vigilante—arrives just in time to pull him from the inferno. With Laura Towne in danger and the stolen cattle hidden in a secret valley, Strong Bow and Stew Carey must outwit the outlaws, aided by Sheriff Townley and the sharp-eyed Loco Luke, before Jigg Larsen’s reign of terror spreads further.
In 1811, the great Indian chief Tecumsah, guided by the arrival of a comet he interprets as a celestial sign, rallies tribal leaders with the promise of divine validation for their cause. When the comet appears in a dazzling display, the tribes interpret it as a portent of triumph—only to face devastating consequences when their hopes lead to a disastrous assault on the American Army.
