Space Mouse and his companion Molly set out for Planet Pluto but find their journey mysteriously derailed—they've been traveling in circles, unable to locate their destination. When Millie Mouse inherits ten thousand dollars from her uncle, she's thrilled—but a smooth-talking character named Tex quickly enters her life, claiming to be a Texas millionaire and charming her with big spending and promises of oil-well investments. Her friend Merry Mouse grows suspicious of Tex's act and sets out to protect Millie from what he's convinced is an elaborate swindle, leading to a chase across town to track down the elusive con artist.
