Space surveyor Harvey Meade and pilot Searles find themselves captured by Agent Wol and her race of beings who can shift between beautiful and grotesque forms at will—a power born from a planet-wide rebellion against male domination. Stranded on this alien world of glass cities and enforced ugliness, the Earth men must navigate a society where beauty itself has become a weapon and a curse. Harvey discovers that breaking through his captors' commitment to their transformed state may be the key to survival—but at what cost?

Commander Alex Carew

Earth rejoices in its dominance after the Third War in Space—until a colossal eye materializes in orbit, scanning the world and filling its people with unsettling doubt. Commander Alex Carew is dispatched to destroy it, but the alien vessel seizes control of his mind and ship, drawing him aboard to meet the beings from Ro, who offer him a stark choice: witness their civilization's true power, or watch Earth fall. As Carew observes wonders and horrors alike, he begins to suspect the aliens may not be quite as invincible as they claim.

The Isotope Man
4 pp · Science Fiction

When Dr. Osborne's medical team boards a damaged enemy vessel in deep space, they discover its crew slowly dying from radiation poisoning—victims not of weapons, but of isotope contamination that has ravaged their entire solar system. Racing against time and their own prejudices, Dr. Osborne and his crew must convince their warring civilizations to set aside conflict and work together to save a dying world. A story about how compassion can triumph where weapons never could.

We Are Among You
4 pp · Science Fiction

Invisible invaders from the conquered planet Ecto-Minus 3 launch a devastating surprise assault on Earth, infiltrating its power stations and demanding unconditional surrender—but the aliens' one critical weakness becomes humanity's unexpected salvation. When a broadcast reveals that common household ammonia can stop these semi-invisible warriors, ordinary citizens and military forces alike turn the tide of an invasion that had seemed unstoppable. It's a tense race against extinction in this 1964 tale from Space Adventures.

Black Omen
4 pp · Science Fiction

Captain Aln leads an Earth patrol into dangerous space, following disturbing reports from previous expeditions lost to some unknown threat—and he's determined to discover what's waiting for them.
