"The Trip Back" follows Dr. Aldous Olsen, a brilliant scientist who grew dissatisfied with Earth and used a nuclear-powered rocket of his own secret design to leave the planet. After departing Earth, Olsen uses a magno-energy drive to triple the speed of light and return home, determined never to come back. However, his plan was only theoretical until the moment he pressed the button to activate his rocket, leaving his fate uncertain as he attempts to survive the acceleration stage of his journey back to Earth.
