Volume 2 of Atsushi Ohkubo's Soul Eater arrives with a striking cover pairing a spiky-haired boy gripping twin scythes with a confident young woman wrapped in heavy chains, both striking combat-ready poses against a clean white background. Ohkubo's bold linework gives the duo an immediately memorable silhouette — all attitude and sharp edges. Kurokawa's 2009 French edition is a great entry point into one of manga's most stylishly designed action series.
