It follows Maka Albarn and her scythe partner Soul Eater as they attempt to collect souls to transform Soul into a Death Scythe for Lord Death. This volume collects the opening chapters of Atsushi Ōkubo's original manga series, establishing the quirky characters and darkly comedic tone of the story.
