Sonic Super Special #5

The beloved cast of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog universe gets an adorable makeover in this 1998 Super Special, as the cover by Patrick Spaziante reimagines Sonic, Sally, Tails, and their friends as wide-eyed, pint-sized youngsters tumbling through what looks like a chaotic school setting complete with a clock, a chalkboard, and plenty of mischief. Young Sonic charges front and center while the rest of the crew — including a tiny crowned figure and a red-haired Sally — scramble playfully around him in a burst of colorful energy. It's a genuinely charming package, with interior work from writer Mike Gallagher and artist Manny Galan bringing the "Sonic Kids" concept to life.
