Issue three of this seven-part 2009 DC series puts the swamp-born hulk front and center in striking fashion — Scott Kolins' cover fills the frame with Solomon Grundy's massive, decaying face, that single glowing red eye cutting through rain and dripping ichor, while writhing green vines close in from every direction. The tagline "vs. Poison Ivy!" and the story title "Married on Wednesday!" promise a collision between two of DC's most plant-entangled characters that feels both eerie and darkly playful. Kolins handles both the writing and art throughout the series, and his cover here captures Grundy at his most viscerally unsettling.
