The sixth volume of Aimée de Jongh's charming Dutch series Snippers arrives with a delightfully ironic cover — the subtitle "Gezellig, toch?" ("Cozy, right?") asks, as two young friends find themselves in anything but a cozy spot. A bespectacled blond boy clutching a picnic basket and a dark-haired girl cheerfully consulting a map stand in a gloomy, grave-filled forest, blissfully unaware of the snakes, red-eyed creatures, and a hand reaching up from the earth surrounding them. De Jongh's expressive, warmly cartoonish linework makes the gap between the girl's enthusiasm and the genuinely eerie atmosphere wonderfully funny, promising another entertaining mix of adventure and humor in this 2015 release.
