Snippers #5
From Aimée de Jongh comes the fifth volume of Snippers, subtitled Liever surfen — and the cover sets the tone perfectly. A wild-eyed, skull-shirted crowd-surfer launches himself over a sea of dazed concertgoers while flanking guitarists wail away on either side, all seemingly unnoticed by one unfazed kid in a yellow shirt who's calmly staring at her phone in the middle of the chaos. It's a sharply funny slice of generational indifference, rendered with de Jongh's warm, expressive linework that makes this 2015 Dutch series such a treat.
