Slingers #4 arrives in March 1999 with a cover triptych that lays the stakes out plainly: a ticking bomb, an army of mobsters, and a slim chance to stop them — the three panels showcasing the team's members in full-tilt action, from a dark-costumed hero trailing fire on the left, to a masked fighter squaring off against a crowd of armed goons in the center, to a gold-and-blue figure bracing for impact on the right. ChrisCross pencils and Rob Stull's inks give the composition a kinetic urgency that makes the "Countdown to Disaster!" tagline feel well-earned. With Joseph Harris writing and Oscar Jimenez on interior art, this young Marvel team's fourth outing looks like a tense, high-pressure chapter in their ongoing struggle to live up to the motto printed right at the top: With Great Power, Must Come Great Responsibility.
