Skarga utraconych ziem #[1]

Part of the acclaimed European comics tradition, this 2000 Egmont Polska release launches Skarga Utraconych Ziem ("Lament of the Lost Lands") with a story titled "Sioban." Grzegorz Rosiński's cover painting is immediately arresting — a pale-haired young figure gazes out with quiet intensity, half-enveloped by dark, cracked stone and twisting gnarled roots or branches that seem to reach for them like living things. Written by Jean Dufaux and Wojciech Birek with art by Rosiński, this is a beautifully atmospheric opening to what promises to be a rich fantasy series.
