“Bargains in Murder”

In "Bargains in Murder," Captain Battle races against time to undo the curse turning the Black Dragon’s birdmen into monsters, succeeding just in time to enlist Major Ling Fu as an ally. Together, they storm the Dragon’s Castle, only to uncover a hidden truth: one of the Deaglos is a young boy named Nathan Hale, who now finds himself caught in a deadly trap as the Thibetan Hoods prepare to sacrifice him to their god Moko. Written by Carl Formes and illustrated by Jack Binder, with a striking cover by Don Rico, this 1941 adventure blends supernatural suspense with wartime heroism in a story that’s as sharp as it is suspenseful.
