Silent Hill: Dead / Alive #1
IDW's Silent Hill: Dead/Alive kicks off with a cover that perfectly captures the franchise's unsettling atmosphere — a hollow-eyed young woman emerges from murky darkness, her arms raised above her head as jagged, fang-like shapes tear through the light below her, suggesting something monstrous lurking just beneath. Steven Perkins' painted, sepia-drenched composition feels less like a comic cover and more like a fever dream pulled straight from the fog-drenched town itself. Writer Scott Ciencin and artist Nick Stakal bring this 2005 IDW series to life, and if this haunting opening image is any indication, fans of psychological horror are in for something genuinely chilling.
