Sidekick #4
A costumed hero stands alone, back to the viewer, in a blue armored suit — a trampled banner reading "Welcome Home" crushed beneath his boots while a crowd of angry, sneering faces surrounds him on all sides. Tom Mandrake's cover composition says everything about isolation and hostility without uttering a word, and with HiFi's deep crimson wash over the mob, the atmosphere crackles with tension. J. Michael Straczynski's Sidekick continues to put its hero through the wringer in this 2013 Image/Joe's Comics chapter, and issue #4 makes clear that being a superhero doesn't guarantee a warm reception.
