Charlton's long-running humor magazine Sick delivers its March 1977 installment with a cover by Jerry Grandenetti featuring the magazine's scruffy, goggle-wearing mascot — a wild-haired kid decked out in patched jeans and armed with art supplies — accompanied by an equally bespectacled dog clutching a sign that cheerfully begs for any spare change. The cover promises a packed lineup of satirical mayhem, including a Welcome Back, Kotter send-up ("Sweathogs Get Back at Kotter!"), a movie spoof titled "Gotor!," and a TV parody called "S.W.E.A.T." — plus obscene phone calls, detectives, and the always-essential Sick Trash-ury. At fifty cents, this issue wears its irreverent, anything-goes spirit right on its sleeve — literally.
