“A Sick Cut-Out”

Charlton's long-running humor magazine Sick rides into December 1976 with a wild Western parody cover by Jerry Grandenetti, depicting a grizzled frontiersman, a buckskin-clad companion, and a grinning red-haired kid all blazing away with rifles as arrows fly and cavalry chaos erupts in the background — topped off with a comically oversized "BANG!" flag. Inside, the magazine takes satirical aim at "Buffalo Bull and the Indians," plus bits on obscene phone calls, a Soviet game show, family bribes, tattoos, and everyone's favorite leather-jacketed TV cool guy, Fonz. At fifty cents, this issue packs a lot of irreverent fun into one chaotic package.
